Chinese Culture Day in COMSATS
Chinese Culture day was celebrated on 28th & 29th March 2018 at the premises of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, CIIT Islamabad, organized by China Study Center, CIIT Islamabad in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy. First day of the activities was marked by the visit of Chinese Cultural Counselor Mr. You Yi, along other dignitaries from Chinese Embassy to CIIT Islamabad. They were welcomed by senior officials of CIIT. The First day was highlighted by Arts Exhibition titled “Bahar Ayi” where different renowned Pakistani artists displayed their visual art forms comprising miniature, prints, calligraphy, sculptures, special paper cutting arts, drawings, paintings and crafts representing all provinces of Pakistan.
2nd day festivities were graced by Ambassador of People’s Republic of China Mr. Yao Jing along other dignitaries from Chinese Embassy. Diplomats from various other countries including Afghanistan, Yemen, and Iran were also present at the opening ceremony. The Guests were received by Rector COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, (CIIT) Prof Dr. Raheel Qamar (T.I.) and other senior officials of CIIT.
Rector COMSATS welcomed the Chinese Ambassador and other dignitaries while recognizing the support of Chinese Embassy in sponsoring this two days Chinese Cultural festivities. He reiterated that Pakistan and China have always supported each other in thick and thin and history of most cordial relations between the two countries dates back since creation of Pakistan.
The Chinese Ambassador appreciated the festivities arranged by students of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, CIIT Islamabad. In his speech he announced Scholarships for Pakistani students in Chinese Universities and reiterated that best Pakistani Universities may recommend their students to Chinese Embassy for admission in best Chinese Universities. After the Ceremony the Ambassador was given the round of Campus where students had showcased colorful stalls depicting the Culture of all provinces of Pakistan. The Chinese Ambassador was presented with Sindhi Ajrakh as souvenir at the Sindh Stall. He was then taken to Art Gallery for Exhibition where the curator Ms. Farah Mehmood presented him painting as souvenir.

Chinese kites flying, Pak-China music and song fusion, Pak-China costumes pageantry, Chinese and Pakistani Families interactions, and Oath taking by Office bearers of CIIT Chinese Universities Alumni were some of other highlights of the two days Chinese Cultural Event.
