Music Mela 2017: Bigger and Better than Before

Music Mela is an effort of Foundation for Arts, Culture and Education (FACE) for bringing different cultures of Pakistan together in a more powerful and united form. In this project, no culture is distinguished and maximum effort can be seen to provide maximum exposure to the upcoming music stars belonging to different cultures.

Music Mela 2017 is the fourth annual music festival arranged by FACE in Islamabad. The dates agreed upon by the organizers are 3rd and 4th of March. This music mela is said to be bigger and better than the previous ones because the artist lineup chosen for this year is more diverse and not-so-mainstream than before. The artists that would perform this year are mostly new and the effort of organizers to bring cultures is very much prominent given the fact that artists belonging to Hunza, Islamabad, Karachi, Middle-East, Tibet etc. would perform in this event.

The artist lineup decided for this year is given below:

Literally meaning The Land of Exile, Kyab Yul-Sa is an artistic project for music formed by the union of three members belonging to completely different backgrounds. Lobsang Chonzor is a Tibetan musician, Youenn Rohaut belongs to Northern Europe and Julien Lahaye is Middle-Eastern, more specifically, from Iran.
Kyab Yul-Sa is the only foreign band performing this year in the Fourth Annual Music Mela, 2017.

Ali Suhail (Lead Guitarist), Raheel Manzar Paul (Drummer), Rahail Siddiqui (Bassist) and Nadir Shahzad (Lead Vocalist and Founder) make Sikandar ka Mandar a success. Their first album came out in 2014 and since then, they have been working on another album which is set to be released in 2017.

This artist lineup has been decided so far for the above mentioned event. But given the promises of organizers regarding the expected success of this event makes it a distinct one from the ones before.
For a country that is being condemned globally as a terrorist nation, such events are of extreme importance to diffuse the tension and to lighten up the grim moods of Pakistanis.

Stay tuned to the facebook page and website of Music Mela for further details and do make your March eventful by becoming a part of Music Mela 2017.
