Petit Brugge The Taste of Belgium in Islamabad
The Launch Event of Petit Brugge held in F-7, Islamabad. Petit Brugge hails straight from Belgium and its culture and traditions inspire the name as well as the theme. The restaurant focusing on not only quality of food in twin cities but also on diplomatic taste. Restaurant is an initiative of Abid Rabbani who is working in this field from last 28 years in Belgium.
Who is Abid Rabbani?
He born in Pakistan and lived in the country for a good 24 years, he decided to move to Belgium in January, 1990 and started my 1st Italian/French restaurant by the end of 1990 along with professional degrees for the profession. His business successfully grew into a chain of restaurants in many cities of Belgium. Namely;

After 10 long years, sold this chain of Italian/French restaurants and opened a fine dine restaurant ‘La Torre’ serving Belgian/French and Italian specialties in the historical center of Brugge. Catering for the biggest hotel in the city ‘The Grand Hotel’. We had the opportunity to serve regularly to national and international seminars conducted at the seven seminar halls of the Grand Hotel (now Martins Hotel).
After another Decade, finally giving up to his long lasting desire, he opened ‘Shalimar Tandoori’ in Fort Lapin and Gaston Roelandtsplein in the city of Brugge, a restaurant serving pure Pakistani cuisine.
After doing successful business in Belgium for the last 28 years, he finally decided to come back to Pakistan. Therefore, He launched restaurant in our & his own city Islamabad to share my experience of Belgian/French cuisine to the food lovers by the name of ‘Petit Brugge’.
Petit Brugge is not only cater the need of Pakistani food lovers as well diplomats in Capital City. At the time of launch many of diplomats and foreigner were present and express their feelings about the food. The Special thing I notices that the foreign chef Annick J. Goethals, in a restaurant for the first time in Islamabad, she also trained the staff to produce the taste of Europe.
On the Launch, different kind of Food including cheese croquettes, chicken gyros, chicken paninis, vol au vent, waffles, pancakes and Beverages were presented to Dignitaries and Guest of thee occasion. The homemade cheese croquettes were the head chef’s own recipe. Ustad Raees provided soothing music and Natty, the model, hosted the red carpet. As the resturant is on the first floor so restutant have elevator that made the venue easy and accessible for the elderly and for people with disabilities which is an unusual in Pakistan. The event was well managed by one of the famous Event and PR company named Oriantano Associate and Event Planner.
